FIELD TRIP



Objective: To offer participants a firsthand look at how AI-driven solutions are implemented in real-world settings to combat nutritional challenges, enhancing their understanding and inspiring further innovation.

Brief: Over two days following the virtual camp, this optional component provides an opportunity for participants to visit Bangladesh and engage directly with local communities, NGOs, and projects focused on nutrition and technology. 

Highlights include:
  1. Guided tours of projects where AI tools are making a tangible difference in nutritional health. 
  2. ​​Workshops and talks with local experts and practitioners in the field of nutrition and technology.
  3. Cultural immersion activities to understand the context and challenges faced by communities in Bangladesh.

Key Features:

  1. Safety and health protocols to ensure participant well-being.
  2. Organized group activities to foster team bonding and cultural exchange.
  3. Reflection sessions to discuss observations and learnings from the field.



2-Day Local Field Trip Program



<  Day 1: Immersive Learning and Local Insights  >
  • Morning Session: Introduction and Overview
    1. Welcome and orientation at a local community center managed by the NGO.
    2. Overview of the local NGO's initiatives on nutritional awareness for adolescent girls.
  • Field Visits to Local Projects (Morning to Afternoon)
    1. Guided tours of ongoing projects that address nutritional issues, including visits to schools or community centers          where participants can interact with local stakeholders.
    2. Discussion on current challenges faced in implementing nutritional programs and the role of technology and AI in       addressing these challenges.
  • Workshop: AI Solutions in Local Context (Afternoon)
    1. Interactive workshop where participants brainstorm and discuss how AI tools and techniques learned in the virtual       camp can be adapted to support the NGO's projects.
    2. Focus on developing AI-driven approaches to enhance nutritional education, data collection, and analysis.
  • Evening Session: Reflection and Group Discussion
    1. Reflection on the day's learnings and experiences.
    2. Group discussion on potential AI solutions that could be piloted or further explored in collaboration with the local          NGO.
<  Day 2: Collaboration and Project Development  >
  • Morning Workshop: Design Thinking and AI
    1. Facilitated design thinking session to ideate and prototype AI-based solutions for identified nutritional challenges,       encouraging creativity and practical application.
  • Collaborative Project Planning
    1. Participants form small teams to outline project concepts that leverage AI for nutritional improvement, guided by         mentors from the virtual camp and local experts.
  • Project Pitches and Feedback
    1. Teams present their project ideas to a panel comprising NGO representatives, community leaders, and AI experts.
    2. Constructive feedback session to refine and improve project proposals.
  • Closing Ceremony and Path Forward
    1. Acknowledgment of participation and efforts with certificates.
    2. Discussion on how these projects could be supported, implemented, or integrated into the NGO's existing                       programs.
    3. Networking and farewell.


This program is designed to not only provide a practical application of AI in addressing global health challenges but also to inspire participants to think creatively about technology’s role in social good, all within a framework that emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and local impact.
